Big changes at Longleat safari park
The Grain has been delighted to be involved as Key sign maker at Longleat Safari Park. Working closely with project designers Craig Jefferery and Doug Barlett along with graphic designer Matt Wellsted and the excellent executive team on various projects throughout the park.
Work to date has involved Themed Entrance Signage, interpretation panels and Sandblasted Poster & Map Structures and Digital Printed Panels. The changes Longleat are making at the Safari Park are stunning.
The incredible Faux Stonework was created by Themed Structures inc. (TSI)
Out of the Wild
The Brief: High Relief and very light, the rope and bamboo Structure of this sign designed by Craig Jeffery, Project Director, and adds great interest to this hanging sign.
The Solution: The 3D letters were CNC Machined in HDU whilst the Palm leaves were made in digital printed dibond and formed the 1200mm sign weighed in at only 15kg.

Jungle Kingdom
The Brief: A very important High Impact 2.5m sign with a lot of depth to mark the entrance of Longleat's new excellent Themed Jungle Kingdom
The Solution: Construct in Marine Boarbuilders Plywood with PVC foam Rasied Letters and mount onto a 25mm foam PVC Backboard

Deer Valley
The Brief: A High Impact 3mtr sign with a lot of depth to mark the entrance of Longleats Famous Deer Valley, the Stag needed to dominate the sign
The Solution: Construct in PVC foam for strength with a Faux Texture Marine Ply Backing Panel. All animals were fabricated in layers for a 3D effect

Hunters of the Sky
The Brief: Keep the fine detail of the raised lettering but use a bronze chamfer to add strength to the letters without increasing the body of the font, the sign will need to have a flexible slide in system for multiple time panels.

Secret Garden
The Brief: Make 4 of these 1mtr signs with Fine Carved details in color and aged Cedarwood to blend in well with the old Secret Garden at Longleat
The Solution: Construct in 43mm Western Red Cedarwood and laser carve and engrave in the detail, fairies to graphic overlayed in Cast Digital Print.

Jungle Cruise
The Brief: A high impact Overhead sign 2.5mtr sign with a lot of depth and relief to mark the entrance of The Jungle Cruise Boat Ride at Longleat
The Solution: Construct in PVC foam for strength with full rounded CNC cut edging trim, over 5 layers of printed digital Cast Print on Dibond. The Ships wheel was added by the Themed Structures inc. team at Longleat

Pizza Piazza
The Brief: Manufacture 4 fo these signs (2 of which are roof mounted) and keep an Italian feel to the detail.
The Solution: We manufactured 4 of these digital Printed 3D signs for the Pizza Piazza at Longleat. The base was Pinted Cast Dibond on a Marine Ply Backboard. The Banner made in 25mm HDU with cut in color filled Text, they capture the "Italian feel" of a Stone Bake Pizzaria Well. The banner was raised on 20mm backstops to add dimension.

Monkey Drive Through
The Brief: This sign will mark the entrance to the "Monkey Drive Through at Longleat and needs to be high enough to get a DOUBLE DECKER BUS UNDERNEATH!!! It will need to be light
The Solution: Construct in 43mm Western Red Cedarwood and for high impacy add raised cutout 30mm PVC Letters on rubber stops. Finish color light to the cedarwood for maximum impact.
